They also teach how to deal critically and logically with subjective, complex, imperfect information. In addition, the Humanities and Social Sciences develop informed and critical citizens. Without the Humanities, democracy could not flourish.

➤  Creative Writing affect and influences the entire community by changing opinions, instilling values and translating experiences across space and time and of course it affects our fundamental sense or self by painting, sculpture, music and literature.
5.)As a Humanities and Social Sciences student what can you offer to the society or community?(individual)

➤  As a Humanities and Social Sciences student, I can offer my knowledge, abilities and skills to society/community. Because I do believed that through my knowledge that I've learned in school that I am going to teach and share with the people in the society/community such as interacting in social, environment issues and how to resolve them,  giving importance  to the culture and the challenges that the people might face in the future if there will be no progress happen, will help the people to became aware and ready, as well as making an action . And I also believed that with the collaboration of my knowledge, ability and skills together with the people in the society will definitely give a big impact and progress, not only to the people but also to the society itself and together we will make change.

                                                                                            - Anamae Malabago

➤  As the HUMSS student, all I can offer is my ability, knowledge and skills because through studying HUMSS it will develop our ability to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively and make decisions. I believed that through this knowledge and ability  that I learned, I, can use it to help and educate people that our ecosystem should preserved . We should stop doing wrong things as throwing garbage improperly, burning fossils fuels and cutting down trees, instead of deforestation try to reforestation. Being one of HUMSS student, i will make sure that in my community i will develop human equality wherein everyone is equal in terms of rights and responsibilities we should  respect each other because that is humanities for. Above all else, as a HUMSS student it gives me the chance to make a mark in the world.

- Rachelle Montemayor

➤   As a Humanities and Social Sciences student the only thing that i can offer into the society or community is to educate and teach them what is the proper garbage disposal and how to recycle plastics because as we all know, plastics is one of the biggest problem, not just in our society/community but also worldwide. So we should do things in the right way  and we should be responsible enough for the betterment of our country.

- Christiannie Barbon

➤    All people can contribute or offer anything in this world, because we are created with a purpose. All strands are worth it and can contribute big as well as the students because students are those who will  prove that learning is important to have a better life. Me, as taking the Humanities and Social Sciences, I can offer to my community my skills and what I've learned during my past and present grades. Being a HUMMS  student, we have the most demand and high profession soon, as being a police officer, a teacher, a nurse, a lawyer and others are on this strand. Yes I'm just a student but I have a value. I can help my community to think critically to be a good example on younger kids to my fellow youth and to the surrounding , I can contribute by  just a little things I can do because great things comes from small effort.

                                                                                        - Serion, Florence Jhayne

➤As Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Student, the things that I can offer to the community are the following: First is that, I can share my knowledge to the people about the environment in order for us to build certain programs that can help to protect/ preserve our mother earth since global warming nowadays is one of the crucial problem we are facing. Second, I can show to the people the value of the truthfulness in terms of politics, how to vote wisely since nowadays vote buying is very rampant to our community or society. Lastly, how to spread love, care and help to the children who are in need especially the malnourished one through “Feeding Program”.

                                                                                                                 -Baylosis, Rhea

➤As a Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Student, I can offer to the community are, the first one, is to offer my ability to work wisely in our society , the second one, is to encourage the youth to throw their garbage properly not to throw it everywhere, because this is one of the problem that we face nowadays, then lastly, I maintain the love and care to our environment. Being a Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Student, Is our responsibility to offer our knowledge to the society/community of what we`ve learned in our lessons, also it`s our responsibility to help the  other. that`s the thing I can offer to the community.

                                                                                                               - Escorial. Anamee

➤     As a HUMMS student, i can offer my knowledge to my community/ society, because in this way, I can share to them of what i learned in my school as a HUMSS student and i know that in this simple way, it can help to the people who live in my community/society and that could be all thank you.

                                              Culminating Activity Reflections

We, the Humanities and Social Sciences students are required to create a culminating activity regarding our 8 specialized subjects which is creative writing, creative non-fiction, community engagement and solidarity, DIAS, DISS, politics, introduction to world religion and mega trends in 21st century instead of work immersion.
We prepared this activity for more than 3 months, but honestly, 3 months was too short for us to prepare everything since we have a lot of preparations and practices to be done before the day of our culminating activity. We encountered a lot of struggles and difficulties  through out the 3  consecutive months that we have. Happy, sad, anger, stressed, nervous , excitement and many more emotions we felt before, during and after our culminating activity. We developed our skills , abilities and creativity just for this activity since it requires a lot of it  as well as efforts and patience  for it to be done successfully. I could say that this activity is really helpful in developing not only our skills and abilities but also our personality and characteristics as a person. In this activity, we learned how to work hard, collaborate with others especially to our group mates, we discover our hidden talents and most of all, it makes us more in love with love with our strand.
Culminating activity might takes a lot of money, efforts, and hard works  but it will surely give you a great results  as it helps you to developed your skills, abilities, and confidence. It will also give you a lot of learnings and discoveries.

                                                                                               -Malabago, Anamae

➤ The K-to-12 Curriculum were required to those Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Strand that instead of having a Work Immersion the students should have their Culminating Activity. The Culminating Activity had the specialized subject of the Academic Strand, Humanities and Social Sciences that helped those people understand more about what Humanities and Social Sciences are. Even though the Culminating Activity is just one day we prepared it so much. Every group had their specialized subject that should be more defined in terms of making booths for exhibition. On the day of our Culminating Activity I felt so nervous because I knew there are lots of people will be watching, but I knew that this activity will helped me building my self-esteem. As part of our Culminating Activity the selected students must performed a different danced festival that belong into our specialized subject the Introduction to World Religion, the said festival danced are Sinulog from Cebu, Bharatanatyam from India, Singkil from Mindanao, Hola from Hawaii, and Balse from Katimugang Luzon. Lastly our Fashion show the selected students must choosed a person that they want to impersonate that in line with their corresponding subjects. learned a lot of this activity because it is one way to exposed people and also it will developed my leadership skills wherein I can used it to collaborate with my group mates. I knew we’ve been through a lot of sacrifices and struggles in making this activity became more excellent but all of our sacrifices were paid off by heart touching comments from those people who witnessed our activity. I felt honour that I am, I am Rachelle Montemayor a product of Humanities and Social Sciences. As I cross this journey all I can say that Humanities and Social Sciences is not just communicating a huge number of people but it will helped me realized that everything will be possible if you trust or believe your ability and skills.

                                                                                        - Montemayor,Rachelle B.

➤We made a history last February 7, 2019. Vallehermoso National High School Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students had the first ever Culminating Activity. Instead of having a Work Immersion we are required to have a Culminating Activity and it’s only for our strand. When we first knew that we won’t have a Work Immersion but we must come up with this activity, we felt rad and reacted negative because we don’t have any idea of what it is all about. It’s just a one day event, but our preparation took for 4 months. That four months was very busy. The month of January, for me that’s the busiest month as we prepared for our Culminating Activity because even Saturday’s and Sunday’s, we need to come back to school and meet up with our group. We need to comeback for our booth, for the practices of dances like Sinulog, Banatanatyam, Singkil, Hola and for the fashion show. It’s February, the tense and excitement never leave us. So as the day of Culminating Activity came, we’re so nervous and excited. It’s a whole day event, there’s a visitors slowly coming at the morning just to visit our booths and in the afternoon, the main program starts. That’s one of the memorable day happened in my entire life. While we are performing our different tasks, they can’t stop clapping their hands, they can’t stop smiling and it’s obvious that they are enjoying what we are doing. I felt very blessed. They appreciated it, I’m so overwhelmed of course when the teachers said that they really like our presentation and they congratulates us for making it successful and historical. Every single appreciation made me emotional honestly, I’m so proud to all of my classmate for giving the best of their best. The teamwork, dedication, and the love of each other is there and that’s the spirit, I loved in this batch.

                                                                                   -Barbon, Christiannie

➤In our Culminating Activity I learned a lot like you need to work hard, and I learn that we need to manage my time and be creative and cooperative. And I believe that the task become easier if you work together with your team. And also I learned how to handle any kind of attitude.

                                                                                   -Blanca Khalel

➤ Culminating Activity is a very extraordinary and unforgettable moment that I experienced. It is not just an easy activity. Because we experience a lot of new things like planning and brainstorming for what is the kind of booth we build. I belong to Creative Writing group which is one of the specialized subject of Humanities and Social Sciences(HUMSS) strand. And I am glad that I do because I knew that my group mates are all cooperative and very active. Culminating Activity needs a lot of effort, patient, and the most hardest thing to do during the preparation for this activity is time management but then I`ve learned on how to manage time. In Culminating activity I`ve also learned on how to budget money. then the day before Culminating activity we are all busy in preparing and cleaning the Gymnasium, while the other are busy practicing different cultural dance. Finally, February 7,2019 this is the day of our Culminating activity, we felt nervous and a little bit excitement. The event ended up successfully because we heard positive comments from the people and also from the school heads.

                                                                                                         - Escorial, Anamee

➤ Last February 7, 2019, we had our first ever “Culminating Activity”. For me, this program considered as the unforgettable and momentous event of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students, because we exerted much time, efforts, money, patience and other things just to make this event a successful one. By this activity, I learned lessons that I can apply in my everyday living as well as to my future life. Like, I learned how to be responsible enough, how to give value on someone`s effort, how to use/utilize the time wisely, using money for important matter even a small amount but there was great outcomes. Having patience is one of the important traits that we need to develop, because imagine, the preparation for this activity was on October and it happened February this year. For almost 3 months of preparation, mission successfully accomplished, and if without patience all of these will turn to nothing. Also being active is important, because it makes things easier and faster. Being resourceful and creative are also needed because in a simple way, we can make things different. And lastly, the significance of unity to people, because having unity makes everything successful and at the same time in unity, we are showing our love and respect to each other that make us feel the real fulfillment of the activity.

                                                                                                       -  Baylosis, Rhea

➤We made history last February 7, 2019, as we the Humanities and Social Sciences Grade 12 students had a first ever Culminating Activity. Instead of having a Work Immersion, our strand have to deal with this activity. We are shocked and reacted negative when we heard about it. But as the months running, I realized that having this kind of activity will helps us to build more friendship, to think critically, to help one another, to have teamwork, to work hard, and to build a self- trust. Before, during, and after the activity, I realized a lot. I realized that I had the best section ever and I don’t know how to forget them. We’ve gone so far and faced difficulties as one, and we know that there’s more coming. So now, we’re still here to support and help one another. We will be together at April 5, walking in the red carpet with our parents at our arms, wearing our “toga” or walking slowly to the stage and receive our diploma, smiling and hugging our parents which who’s always at our side and never leaves us.
